"{{lang|it|Lascia la spina, cogli la rosa" is an aria from the oratorio Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno" (Engl: The Triumph of Time and Disillusion) by Georg Friedrich Händel. The libretto was written by Benedetto Pamphili. The oratorio had its premiere in Rome in 1707. "Lascia la spina, cogli la rosa", one of its most popular arias, was later used again by Händel, with the more widely known lyrics "Lascia ch'io pianga" in his opera "Rinaldo".[3]
