Music and libretti
The sheer beauty of his melodies alone would make an album of Caldara's works worthwhile. The album displays his operatic works and shows us a side of Caldara that is often neglected - his capability for dramatic arias.
The album ends with an absolute gem - the aria "Se un core annodi" with Vocanima Köln, showing Caldara at his most sensitive and humorous.
Title and artwork
The title describes the contents: The album displays a section of Caldara's work; it focusses on works written for Vienna.
