Etienne Collard is a graduate of the Sorbonne in Paris where he received a degree in Musicology. Pianist and conductor by education, he was hired in 1982 hired as editor and art director in the Department of Classical EMI France.

Étienne Collard is in charge of the sound of many of Philippe Jaroussky's recordings, from Musiche Varie from 2003 to La Vanità del Mondo (Album)
