Gottlieb Lappe (* April 24, 1773 in Wusterhusen; † October 28, 1843 in Stralsund) was a Pomeranian poet. He was a co-founder of the literary weekly Sundine.

In addition to love poems, Lappe mainly wrote poems about his homeland of Western Pomerania. He traveled to almost every corner of the country. The most frequent subject of his poetry was the island of Rügen. In his poems, he praised the beauty of the sea, the land and its inhabitants. He also described the lives of some of his fellow countrymen. Together with Friedrich Joachim Philipp von Suckow, he founded the literary weekly Sundine in Stralsund in 1827.

Karl Lappe died in Stralsund in 1843. He was buried in the Franconian cemetery. Lines from a poem he had written were inscribed on his grave, which was maintained by the Masonic lodge “Sundia zur Wahrheit”: “Sleep or death, bright shines the dawn”. The grave was removed in 1960.
